It's SO easy to get addicted to your straighteners, curling tong, whatever you use. Once you lock down your look and you reel in the compliments all day, it's hard to turn back. Yes you might have rocked beachy waves all summer, especially if they were thickened with sea salt every day from all those sun soaked days spent beach side, but back home? In the city? A bit out of place. Darn it!
So it's back to the hairdryer and heat styling we go. Well that's what you thought any way. There is a nifty little way to lock down tousled waves a la Topshop Unique AW16.
How it's done
Get things started in the evening. You're going to need your hairdryer for the first part, unless your barnet dries super speedily on it's own, but make sure you let your locks dry at least half way through naturally before you hit the 'on' switch, that's do-able whoever you are.
Next tip your head upside down and blast it with your dryer until you're done. Next pile your hair into a loose topknot on the very top of your head, this will keep your roots raised all night and pack in the volume. Secure it with a crocodile clip - an easy way to avoid kinks.
When you wake up, simply shake your hair free of its topknot and just admire those waves. To keep things on trend and totally Topshop Unique like, add in a deep side parting and a texturiser spray (we love Charles Worthington's Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray, £6.99) through the lengths to keep the volume in place all day.
All that with minimum effort and zero sign of a straightener or a tong. You are WELCOME!
