The lady's in her 50s and looks like that. Anything she does we want to do it. Sure she hit the genetics jackpot but this Aussie goddess is doing more than a few things right right now and we sure as hell want the lowdown. First up, Elle's lessons on sleep.
'At night, I try to have a definite cut-off time; it’s not always easy with an international business. Evenings tend to be family time - we love having dinner together with no business interruptions and time to wind down before bed.
I am pretty organised over my bedtime routine these days, no makeup, lots of water by the bed, my SLEEP WELLE Fortified Calming Tea, a good book and no screens! Although sometimes I take a sneaky peek at CNN or watch Shark Week with the boys.'

Why do we need our beauty sleep? Well magic creams and green juices aside, sleep is one of the best things we can give our skin. A lack of shut-eye can cause your body to release a certain amount of cortisol, and that's an absolte bitch of a hormone. They call it the stress hormone, probably because it rears its ugly head when the body's under stress, but its effects cause a fair amount of it too.
When too much cortisol is present in your bod, it can cause your collagen supplies to breakdown and give way to a few more fine lines an wrinkles here and there. Not only that but it can perpetuate inflammation, blemishes, full on break outs, the lot.
Oh and another thing, if a shed load of cortisol gets released it signals to your body that it's under stress and should start to try and repair itself - hello sugar cravings! That explains the link between cortisol and weight gain.
So there you go, get on the beauty sleep band wagon like Elle and keep that little madame cortisol at bay.
