If your gym's spin session's getting samey and it's time for something bigger and better head to Core Collective. Find the studio on Phillimore Walk just off Kensington High Street. Push through the door and you'll walk straight into the depths of the Chelsea fitness bubble. Think matcha protein shakes doing the rounds, prettily flushed (and flush) ladies and gents fresh from their work out, and generally more than five dogs at a time tails wagging, waiting for their walk home.
Don't be fooled by the comfy sofas and zen-inducing greenery here there and everywhere, when you come to Core you come to work, and their renowned Accelerate spin class is no exception.
The specialised spin room itself looks like a training pod for the Hunger Games, all state of the art bikes, walls lined with speakers, and a wall of mirrors that lets you know just how hard you're going.
The session's 45 minutes long, and that's more than enough, good luck tackling stairs the day after your first try - prepare for the pain of pride. Instructor wise, each one will give you a run for your money, but faves wise we're all for Carl. If you're brave - trust us it's worth it. His music's a godsend and even if you rock up from work flagging, he'll pick you up as quickly as he could physically pick you up - and we reckon that'd be pretty quick. Again, trust us.
You'll make your way through each track and varying beats, double time, slower whilst isolating your top half, pressing up and down on handlebars, tapping forward and tapping back - a one trick spin pony Core is not.
