Wander through the little streets of Parsons Green and you might just happen upon the Power Yoga Co. nestled on Lettice St. It's the glowing full length window on the first floor that always catches my eye, even that little snippet of the studio looks serene.
The Power Yoga Co, was founded by Marie-Laure and Amelie, who met as teenagers in France. They trained as yoga teachers together in Miami before deciding that London was to play home to their first studio - luckily for us!
The training team are hand-picked by the passionate founders, and for a relatively small location, there are a lot of them. As the result the class timetable is huge, and the range of hours classes are available is extensive. If you've ever managed to talk yourself out of a regular yoga session because the start times see you cutting it too close for comfort once you've left the office, then here's your antidote.
If you're less yoga bunny, more nervous novice, then Level 1 is your go-to. Oh and if you're a cardio fanatic who thinks you need to bash out intervals on the cross-trainer to feel the burn then just you wait. An hour under the guidance of one of the instructors here and you'll leave dripping. And zen. Very very zen.
A quick Google will give you an endless list of the benefits of yoga, both physical and mental, meaning there's every reason under the sun to give it a try if you haven't already. Regular classes will rejuvenate you, lengthen your muscles and increase your flexibility. Yoga strengthens all those core muscles that stave off injury and frailty so get going. In the Power Yoga Co. we've found you the perfect place to start.
For a first-timer the studios are cosy and far from intimidating, for a yogi fanatic the higher classes are a definite challenge. The tuition here is pure quality and the surroundings delightful. If your pad or place of work is close by it's an absolute must.
